The history of Chiara and those who started this adventure with her aroused some interest both in ordinary people and the media right from the start. As a matter of fact, different TV broadcasts insisted on Chiara and her friends participating in their shows, testifying their experiences both at RAI, Mediaset and local TV channels. Youngsters' testifying their past of death and hell, together with a resurrection of joy provoke confusion, questions, reflections and echoes of a vast admiration and acclaim both in the media and the ordinary people.

That's why the Communication and Media area is now so busy and full of many activities. New Horizons is lavishing energy and effort on it, because we want to meet an urgent imperative: communicating the truth about life, about knowledge and information, revealing courageously what builds life and what counterfeits it and makes it unhappy. In this perspective, professionals and volunteers provide their talents and their passion for communicating, because they know how media can become a great tool of evangelization. Radios, TVs and the Internet are new mission areas, not covered or too long undervalued by the Catholic world.

Like all our other projects,  Happy News lives in Providence: computer equipments, television equipments, press facilities are all gifts from God. The professionals working with us, do this for free, with professionalism, but also giving their time to the cause.

Audio/Video
There are many innovations in this area, which is growing exponentially since 2010:

• Vita che Rinasce ("Life's rebirth"): it is the first television program created and run by New Horizons. Broadcast inside the MP3 radio broadcasts of the Catholic TelePace, it tells the stories of youngsters who, after a history of physical or spiritual death, encounter with Christ discovering new life.
• Orizzonti di Spiritualità ("Paths of Spirituality"): a new television format in the making.
• Training DVD: this is another news for 2010. All New Horizons centres may have the DVD with Chiara Amirante's training videos, thus being able to compensate for the problem of distance that often prevents the participation in the retreats.
• TV Collaborations: in recent times you can frequently find leaders, priests or students of New Horizons by zapping the TV, both in the morning and in the afternoon. No desire to appear but simply the desire to lead, even by these means, a message of hope to all those who are listening.
• Production of films and documentaries of various kinds.

Artwork
Artwork is an essential part of communication: the desire to be at best even with these communication tools is driven by the logic of aesthetics, and not by the logic of appearance. The same Horizons News, the quarterly magazine of the association, involves a study about colors and layout to make reading more enjoyable. In addition, the artwork entails working with the graphics publishing industry for the covers of books, together with supporting the programmers for the creation of websites and the realization of the entire informing material for the community and the evangelization.

External Relations and Data Processing Centre
Last but not least, there are two areas of Happy News involving a constant work:
the IT sector, which is always concerned about providing the right tools to work for all, and the external relations section, concerned about being a meeting point for all media that want to learn more about the activities of New Horizons. These can be defined as the centripetal and centrifugal force inside Happy News: thanks to the IT sector Happy News could realize this website your browsing, as well as thanks to those who manage external relations you can sometimes see New Horizons bringing a message of true joy through traditional television channels.
