Cittad._Cielo_QuixadaThis sector aims to promote and disseminate the culture of solidarity bimbo_meccanico_2006_172and unity with particular attention to the reality of social exclusion faced by too many people. In this sense we suggest specific contributions to help renewing society in its concrete forms.

Many projects and initiatives were born from the imagination of love and that result in integrated actions with the precinct, both national and international, as well as in services and accredited institutional bodies.

This includes the following policy areas:

  • Promotion of volunteering at places of discomfort or social marginality (prisons, hospitals, places of poverty and social neglect, etc.);
  • Networking with the third sector and local voluntary associations;
  • International cooperation;
  • Relations with public bodies for accreditation or else;
  • Planning for access to loan funds of different kind: European, national, regional, etc…

The integration within the territory is a fundamental point developed by Social Services sector
The action is twofold:

  • Promoting networking with other public and private organizations that are active in social work and converging towards the same goals, recognizing that the Community is the bearer of news that originates from specific charisma. That charisma can reveal itself as a gift not only for the church, but also for society;
  • Always keeping alive the dialogue with institutions and with both public and private bodies - lenders - intended for activities which the Community promotes both nationally and internationally, considering those bodies additional channels of Providence assisting the work in its full implementation.

Last but certainly not in order of importance, this sector expands its business horizons to missions abroad and, through international cooperation and long-distance supporting projects, contributes to help those numerous people who live in situations of poverty, for whom it is urgent to feel personally responsible because we’re all children of the same Father.
